iWavit FiOS app for iPhone and iPad

The "iWavit FiOS" app turns the iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch) into an IR Remote for controlling Verizon FiOS Cable boxes. Specifically, this is a "Virtual Remote" that is a virtual metaphor for the Verizon FiOS Remote Model P265.

The iWavit introduces the concept of "Virtual Remotes". Swipe left-right between 4 screens to get to all the buttons.

Virtual Remotes have several notable benefits over their real-world cousins:

1. Get rid of clutter from your living room table!
2. Buttons are large and easy to hit, and easily seen in the easily seen in the dark.
3. You can use the iWavit USB Dongle & IR Lightbar as a an RF-to-IR Extender. This means you can be upstairs and still control your TV downstairs. The RF range is over 300 ft.


All buttons on this remote have pre-programmed IR codes, but you can also reprogram them. You might, for example, prefer to have the Volume buttons control your surround sound system or TV, instead of your Verizon FiOS box.

When you press the buttons on the iWavit Verizon FiOS app, IR signals will be emitted from the front of the iWavit Attachment. You will be able to use this Virtual Remote app much as you would a regular Verizon FiOS IR Remote.

On top of this, it is possible to use the (optional) iWavit USB dongle and IR Lightbar as a "Wireless IR Extender". These are part of the "iWavit Premium" and BLUETOOTH Smart "iWavit Blast!" product bundles. (Note: You do not need WiFi or need to worry about network passwords at all during setup). Now when you press a button, you can have IR signals be emitted from the Lightbar instead of the iWavit Attachment. Why? The IR lightbar is about 10x stronger than a normal remote control. This means it can control almost anything in the same room. No more need to point at the device to control. Moreover, you can be over 300 ft away due to the RF link between the USB dongle and the iWavit Attachment.

Pressing the HOME button in the lower left of the front screen will take you to the app called iWavit Flow. This app provides a convenient cover-flow way to navigate between all the many available iWavit apps.

The "iWavit FiOS" app is part of a family of iWavit Virtual Remotes for Major-Brand electronic devices.
